Domus: Survivor
A downloadable game for Windows
Short narrative adventure game about an orc orphan, their dad, and their attempts to survive oncoming danger.
Synopsis:
Play as Survivor, an orc orphan adopted by a lonely dwarf on the icecaps. Survivor's clan's death keeps repeating in their head, nightmares of giants keeping them up at night. All Survivor does nowadays is chores, day in and day out. Then, something changes...
Gameplay takes place over a single day; your actions determine which ending you get at or before day's end. As you play and complete endings, your game knowledge increases, and more (and happier) endings become feasible.
Info:
Takes a couple hours to complete, less if you focus on completing the endings.
Can play with keyboard or controller! And it has remappable buttons! (at least I tried my best to implement them)
Content Warnings: Suicide, Racism, Sexism, Cannibalism, Abuse
Please mind the warnings. The game is very upfront about death, with almost all of the content revolving around the protagonist dying in varied ways, most of them self-inflicted. If you feel like knowing how to kill yourself is bad for you, don't play this game.
Personal:
Made while learning Godot. Gamedev is fun, but really hard. I may have gone overboard in a few places.
If I make another game, it's not going to be so steeped in my neuroses. This was a bit tiring.
Also, the art is really inconsistent in quality, and it's mostly 'cause I decided to make way too many images. Sorry.
I tried my best to make sure it was stable, but sometimes bugs slip past you. If you encounter something particularly game-breaking, I'd like to know about it through the comments. I'll try my best to patch it, but it might take me a while to get around to it.
